A local fight over disposal of wastewater in Maui threatens to blow up protections for all of America’s rivers, lakes, and oceans. Earthjustice representing local Maui groups is heading to the Supreme Court to fight this threat to the nation’s clean water. “The county is being a frontman for a whole villain’s list of the nation’s worst polluters that want to use this case to gut the Clean Water Act,” said Earthjustice’s David Henkin, who represents the groups who brought the lawsuit.
